Amid COVID19 pandemic, the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in an order extended the ban on international flights till December 31, 2020.
However, selected flights will be allowed to operate during the period on case to case basis.
A circular, titled 'Travel and Visa restrictions related to COVID-19' was issued on Thursday by Sunil Kumar, the joint director general of DGCA.
According to the circular, "In partial modification of circular", issued on June, 26, 2020, "the competent authority has further extended the validity of circular" issued on the travel and visa restrictions regarding "scheduled international commercial passenger services to/from India" till 11.59 pm on December 31, 2020.
This restriction "shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by DGCA", the circular said.
