BJP workers on Thursday allegedly attacked six Left party offices in Tripura during the nationwide strike called by trade unions in support of their various demands.
Left party leaders said BJP workers vandalized the headquarters of the Communist Party of India (CPI) at Krishnanagar besides the head offices of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and Socialist Unity Centre of India-C (SUCI-C) in Agartala.
The saffron party supporters also allegedly set four Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) offices in Sabroom.
"Ruling BJP supporters attacked the CITU office in Agartala and damaged the assets in the presence of the police," CITU Tripura unit president and former minister Manik Dey told reporters.
A journalist and a CPI-M worker were also seriously injured when the BJP workers attacked them during the strike.
