Army Chief General Manoj Naravane inaugurated a new residential facility at Kohima Orphanage and Destitute Home in Kohima on Wednesday.
This facility will be run by the Assam Rifles, a defence release said.
General Naravane completed his three-day visit to the Northeast on Wednesday.
He arrived at Dimapur on Monday.
The Assam Rifles constructed and furnished this facility which presently takes care of 95 children, including 26 girls.
These children not only get love, care and affection in the facility but are also pursuing education in the local schools and colleges.
