    Chiplun town, neighbouring areas flooded as the twin South Konkan districts of Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg continue to receive heavy rains on Thursday.

    The flooding in Chiplun is worst than the mega floods of 2005. The Mumbai-Goa road traffic and the Konkan Railway train services were badly affected.

    Chiplun is the business and industrial hub of the South Konkan belt of Maharashtra. NDRF teams from Pune have been rushed while an SDRF team has moved from Kolhapur even as rescue teams are being sent to Chiplun.

    Delhi likely to receive light rain

    Delhi is likely to witness a generally cloudy sky with light rain or drizzle on Thursday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

    The minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 25.6 degrees Celsius -- two notches below the normal -- and the maximum is expected to hover around 35 degrees Celsius, it said.

    Farmers agitating against the three farm laws will hold a 'Kisan Parliament' every day at Jantar Mantar, during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, beginning Thursday.

    A group of 200 farmers will hold 'peaceful demonstrations' at Jantar Mantar demanding scrapping of the agri laws and no protester will go to Parliament where the Monsoon Session is underway.
